What to expect at a Eastern Catholic service

How long: 1–2 hours.
Standing & sitting: Much standing. Practices vary by rite.
Communion: Catholics of every rite, Eastern or Latin, may receive Communion. Orthodox Christians may receive if they ask and are prepared. Others are welcome to come forward for a blessing.
If you belong to another church: Latin-rite Catholics are fully welcome to receive. Communion is often given on a spoon, bread and wine together, so simply follow those in front of you or ask the priest beforehand. Protestant Christians are asked not to receive, but are welcome to come forward for a blessing.
What to wear: Modest dress.
Good to know: Liturgies are often in Arabic, Aramaic/Syriac, Armenian or Ukrainian, with some Swedish.
